Everyone has been talking about schedules and street and business closures for when Pope Francis visits Philadelphia. But what about what we, as regular members of the community, can do to help welcome him (besides complain about closures throughout the city).
Here are some things you can do to help welcome Pope Francis:
Make a Welcome Banner
Your parish, school, organization, or family can welcome Pope Francis when he arrives in the U.S. this September with a banner. Banners can be customized with your name. They are 3 feet by 7 feet, and are available in horizontal or vertical design. Each banner costs $100. Order your banner here!
Share Your Story
Every person that sets foot in Philadelphia for the World Meeting of Families 2015 will bring a story to contribute to this great celebration of love, hope, and a family fully alive. Share your story by clicking here.
Perform
Organizers of the World Meeting of Families 2015 are collecting information from those interested in performing during the Pope’s visit. In order to be considered, enter your Request to Perform by clicking here.
Host a Family
If you are located within 120 miles of center city Philadelphia, you can share your furnished guestroom, apartment or home to a visitor(s) in exchange for a nightly fee. Host a Family Registration is free. Once a guest confirms their stay with you, they will be charged a 10% (of the total stay), non-refundable booking fee by Homestay.com. Volunteer
The World Meeting of Families 2015 needs more than 10,000 volunteers. Their volunteers will take care of more than one million people coming for the World Meeting of Families and the Pope visit. Click here to see all the volunteer opportunities available.
