You may hear these type lyrics throughout the South Street Headhouse District next Sunday, December 7 as city dwellers near and far enjoy a day full of free holiday fun for the whole family. The event – which will take place from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Historic Headhouse Square Shambles on 200 Pine Street – will include the annual holiday tree lighting, an appearance by Santa Claus, free horse-drawn carriage rides, performances by Philadelphia Dance Academy and Society Hill Dance Academy, mulled wine and many other fun activities.

Before or after the festivities, those walking through the streets will have the opportunity to check out holiday displays at 30+ businesses competing in the Window Wonderland Storefront Challenge. The event, which is officially titled “Winter Wonderland”, is a celebration of the district’s finest holiday traditions.

Here is a sneak peak of what is in store for guests:

3:00 to 7:00 p.m. – Headhouse Holiday Market with PHAIR

5:00 p.m. – Santa Claus arrives

5:30 p.m. – Society Hill Dance Academy performance

6:00 p.m. – Nutcracker Mashup by the Philadelphia Dance Academy

6:30 p.m. – Tree Lighting and Winter Wonderland Storefront Challenge winners announced

Guests are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy for a child in need, which will be donated through the Salvation Army. Look for collection bins and a special donation tent. For more information, visit southstreet.com or call (215) 413-3713.
