Put on your Dirndl and Lederhosen! Philadelphia’s Christmas Village will host their crowd favorite, German American Weekend this Friday, December 7 through Sunday, December 9. This popular theme weekend is presented by Bank of America and looks to set a record for the 2018 season.

Enjoy traditional German dancing and singing on stage and various German clubs from all over the area. Bring your dancing shoes to learn some German steps and traditions. Feeling competitive? Check out the brat eating and liter lift competitions! And if you can only make one event, try for the Lantern Parade on Saturday night at 5 p.m. Modeled after the traditional Christmas markets in Germany, there will be plenty of authentic German cuisine and beverages. Feast on Bratwurst (authentic sausage), Sauerkraut, Schnitzel, Kässpätzle (soft cheese egg noodles), Lebkuchen (gingerbread cookies with a twist), and much more. And keep warm with some Gluhwein (warm mulled wine!)
