Don't dread the Kid Table

Don’t dread the Kid Table

Make the “KID TABLE” a happening place to be this holiday season. Whether you fondly remember being banished to the “kid table”, or cringe at the thought of having to return, we have a few tips that are both easy and inexpensive to guarantee a memorable time by all the tots at your holiday celebration.

1. Cover the table with brown or white rolled paper, available at most craft stores, and allow the kiddies to decorate the paper table cover with markers, crayon, etc. Even older children can enjoy because they can now play tic-tac-toe, hangman, and other great games.kid table

2. If you can’t find rolled paper or don’t want to cover the whole table, pick up a pack of placemat coloring pages to fit the holiday theme. You can find these at most local craft stores, plus they are inexpensive and come with plenty in a single pack. If your store is out of stock you can also take advantage of online FREE printables like this one from Crafts-N-Things blog.

3. Use fun, festive, paper plates and napkins that the kids will enjoy. Add another simple and inexpensive touch by setting colorful plastic cutlery for them.

4. If your tot size chairs are limited in supply, try using a kitchen table bench, toy box, ottoman, kiddie stools, or oversized pillows for additional seating.

5. Dinner not finished on time? Break out this fun and simple activity- Make your own Pilgrim hats for Thanksgiving or Elf hat for Christmas.
