This weekend, Philadelphia’s Sapphire Fund presents Sapphire Weekend, a weekend of events to raise money for the Philadelphia region’s LGBT charitable organizations. This year, proceeds will benefit two very worthy charities: the National Adoption Center and Child Advocates.

FRIDAY

Kicking off the weekend is the 2nd Annual Winter Wonderland Ball at Voyeur Nightclub presented by Stimulus Philly. This semi-formal affair features a red carpet, three DJ’s, go-go dancers, photographers, and live performances. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.

SATURDAY

The signature event of the weekend, The Sapphire Ball, takes place on Saturday, January 28 at the Franklin Monument at the Franklin Institute. Preceding the event is the Sapphire Ball Reception from 8 p.m. – 10 p.m. The reception is available with the Reception Package Only, and includes an open bar and hors d’oeuvres. Sapphire Ball Live, beginning at 10 p.m., features a ten-piece band playing all your favorites, a cash bar, and desserts. The evening is blue tie optional, with a masquerade theme encouraged.

SUNDAY

Sundays were made for brunch. Finish out the weekend in style with Sapphire Weekend’s Sunday Brunch at the Pyramid Club. Located on the 52nd floor of the Penn Center, the building offers stunning panoramic views of the city.

With the exception of the Winter Wonderland Ball, tickets MUST be purchased in advance of these events – there are *NO* ticket sales at the door. Visit Eventbrite to purchase your tickets today. Once purchased, you will receive your tickets via email.

The Sapphire Fund was established in 2002 to support the efforts of organizations contributing to the health and well-being of Philadelphia’s LGBT community and those who support them. It is a volunteer organization, conceived and run by members and supporters of the LGBT community. The Fund is an outgrowth of the long-standing annual Blue Ball fundraising event, which was first held in 1991.
