Miley Rolling Stones coverBy now you are all probably well aware of Miley Cyrus’ recent MTV VMA performance, but did you know that Miley gives props to Philly for her transformation? In an upcoming issue of Rolling Stone, Miley talks about her days a Hannah Montana, the ever changing relationship with her famous Dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, and the tons of support she’s been getting from her famous peers. Miley talks about how seriously she actually takes herself, her new found love of vintage fashion from 1992 and her philosophies on life. She shares what she is working on next and how she’s gotten to be the person she is now, and I was intrigued to read that our very own South Street was an intrugal part of the “New Miley”.

But it was last summer, in Philadelphia, where she really found her new style. She was living there with Hemsworth, who was filming a movie with Harrison Ford. “Best summer ever,” Miley says. “Have you ever been to South Street in Philly? That’s where I got my first chain. Sixteen bucks – not real,” she says, laughing. “I was away from people for a minute, and I just started feeling my own vibe. I bought a pair of Doc Martens. I shaved my head. Driving a fucking Ford Explorer around. Just blending in.”

I know I vividly remember my first time strolling down South Street as a teen and have heard numerous stories from friends about time spent on this infamous street over the years – and the strange part is, Miley’s story sounds very similar to mine and theirs.

Comment below and tell us what you love {or hate} about South Street.
