REX 1516, South Street’s newest restaurant ‘west of Broad’ is pleased to announce the launch of their much anticipated brunch program on Saturday, March 24th at 11:00am. Warning: Continuing to read will result in a irrepressible appetite and danger of drooling uncontrollably.
Serving Southern inspired cuisine, Executive Chef Regis Jansen’s brunch menu will feature his long awaited Shrimp & Grits – with fried egg, roasted tomatoes, spicy cheddar sauce, crispy pork belly, and blackened shrimp. The house Omelette – with duck confit, chaurice sausage, taleggio, sautéed spinach, and onion; and Cornmeal Waffles – with fresh fruit and orange infused maple syrup, will have you wishing you could brunch at REX 1516 every day of the week.

“Our restaurant is the ideal stop to enjoy Southern style dishes in a unique atmosphere,” says owner, Jill Weber. Executive Chef Regis Jansen explains that he “had some real fun,” with the brunch menu and will be offering diners “an eclectic menu featuring some true traditional Southern fare.”
Didn’t think it could get any tastier? The new brunch items will be accompanied by a special fixin’s bar, including the Southern Shandy – with Oskar Blues Mama’s Little Yella Pills, lemon, and ginger; and equally refreshing and hangover friendly Basil Mimosa – sparkling wine, orange juice, and basil vodka. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining and will be serving brunch on Saturday and Sunday’s from 11:00am-4:00pm. Outdoor dining couldn’t be more enjoyable with the gorgeous spring weather we’ve been having.

The restaurant exudes modern touches with the charm of a faded southern mansion. REX 1516 offers an
array of dinner, brunch and dessert dishes as well as a full bar program. Hours of operation are 11:00am-11pm for dining, and the bar will be open late night.
