Cast of Comic Energy Philly TV Series
Comic Energy Sketch Comedy Troupe has been around for nearly 15 years and after filming a pilot for TV will finally get the opportunity to produce the series. In a 10-episode format for WMCN-44 (beginning October 10th). Created by James Daly, the series will not only showcase the talent of 17 local comedic actors; it will also feature local musical acts, dance acts, and incorporate many Philadelphia elements.
The series will be shot in one night two different performances on Saturday, August 23rd showtimes at 6:30 and 9:00pm. The venue? Penn’s Landing Caterers (1301 S. Columbus Blvd.). Tickets for the taping start at only $20. The venue has free parking, will have a bar and food on location.
The show will lampoon many celebrities including Ozzy Osbourne, Nicki Minaj, Lady Gaga, Fantasy Island, Kim Kardashian, Miley Cyrus, Billy Cosby, Jimi Hendrix, Casey Kasem, and many more. The show will also include many Comic Energy favorites throughout the years.
Opening musical acts for the shows include “Spectral Lines”, “Nytrous”, “Matthais All-Bars”, and “Pennsylvania Mike and the Bedlam Boys.”
It has been creator James Daly’s goal for many years to give Philadelphia an answering call to NYC’s SNL and after collaborating the talent and adding all the right ingredients Daly believes he has done so. “The show will be unlike any other, and be something that Philly will truly be proud of.”
