Think you have the speed, accuracy and finesse needed to win an oyster shucking contest? The Oyster House (1516 Sansom Street) oyster shucking contest is for you! Even if you aren’t up for the challenge of competitive shucking, you can enjoy the fruits of others’ labor. For only $5 spectators can watch this artful competition and enjoy the fresh oysters after each heat is complete.

The Oyster House’s 3rd Annual Oyster Shucking Contest welcomes Philadelphia area seafood restaurant professionals to compete for $200 and the title of the fastest shucker in the East. Amateur shuckers (like us) can then compete for a $100 Oyster House gift card. Each heat will put three shuckers up against each other, the one that can shuck a dozen oysters the fastest will be crowned the winner.
