“The Cabin in the Woods” Review

Philly Happening enjoyed a night at the movie’s with WMMR, courtesy of the Preston and Steve Show, last night (April 10, 2012), and had the opportunity to see an advance screening of the new horror flick The Cabin in the Woods. Written and directed by Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard and starring heart throbs like Jesse Williams who plays “Avery” on Grey’s Anatomy and the beautiful Kristen Connolly of As the World Turns, and the talented Richard Jenkins; this movie has a great cast of both fresh faced actors and veteran talents.

The Cabin in the Woods is everything you love about a great B horror movie and so much more. Is it Gory? Yes. Are there hot girls? Yes. Zombies? Yes. Will it cause potential nightmares? You bet, but best of all this movie is hilarious! You don’t expect horror movies to tickle your funny bone, but this movie has many laugh out loud moments from beginning to end. A cutting edge story for the horror genre let’s you believe you know what will happen next, but think again. You’ll be glued to your seat, waiting for the next gruesome display of bloodshed and dry humor of the movie’s token stoner, Marty.

We highly suggest you go see The Cabin in the Woods, which opens Friday the 13th at a theatre near you. Thanks to the Preston and Steve Show at WMMR for allowing us to join them for this fun and twisted flick.
