On Friday, September 7 at 5 p.m., the Field House, one of Center City’s best sports bars and beer halls, will reopen after renovations with a brand new beer program and menu from Executive Chef Andrew Brown. With 35 televisions located in five distinct sound zones throughout the two-story space, Field House is the ultimate destination for sports enthusiasts.

“We have become a go-to venue for watching sports and, since Philadelphians love to enjoy great food and drink during those events, we turned up the volume with an extensive selection of craft and domestic beers and a great new menu,” says Beer Steward Andy Farrell, who created Field House’s 40-tap system with nearly 90% of the beers sourced from within 100 miles of Philadelphia. (Love your local at Field House!)

Enjoy a new menu of tasty pub food, highlighted by a few iconic Philadelphia food items such as scrapple, Taylor ham, an elevated cheese steak, a classic roast pork sandwich and a historic tavern tradition: chicken salad with fried oysters. Farrell’s veritable beer selection will be the perfect complement to the new menu and guests can also enjoy an array of affordable wines by the glass and enticing cocktails.

The Field House, located one block from the Convention Center, boasts Center City’s largest television for sports viewing: a 14’ x 8’ projection screen on the first floor. No matter where you take in the action at Field House, you’ll have a great seat. In addition, four private viewing rooms, slated to be ready for October, will allow guests to reserve space for a fun get together with family and friends or to host a business meeting. Something to keep in mind as the playoff season approaches for sure!

“Our goal is to create sports bar with a food and beer experience that Philadelphians can relate to and be proud of, and that conventioneers from around the country can go home raving about,” says Farrell.

Field House will serve dinner seven days a week beginning at 5 p.m. Lunch will be served starting the week of September 17. For more information about Field House, or to make a reservation, please call (215) 629-1520, visit www.fieldhousephilly.com.
