TLC’s Bakery Boss, Buddy Valaro, recently paid a visit to South Philly’s own Oteri’s Italian Bakery to help them create a massive custom cake in celebration of Geno’s Steaks 47th Anniversary.
Oteri’s cakes are their trademark – and they definitely left a mark with the 1,000 pound cheesesteak cake they crafted. To see Oteri’s staff work alongside Buddy be sure to catch the episode premier on Monday, December 16th on TLC at 9:00 pm.
You can also celebrate with other local fans at the South Philly Bar & Grill (1235 E Passyunk) for the viewing party. They will be celebrating with Geno’s Steaks, who stars in the episode alongside the revamped Oteri’s Bakery.
The episode starts at 9pm but come at 8pm to hangout with Geno and the Oteri’s staff to appreciate all things Philly with FREE cheesesteaks and Oteri’s baked goods, as well as $2.50 Yuengling drafts and bottles (available from 8-10pm only)! Then stick around to watch Buddy aka the “Cake Boss” put the 100+ year old Italian Bakery through the ringer, which may or may not involve a 12 foot cheesesteak shaped cake. This event is open to the public but please rsvp.
We are also encouraging guests to bring a canned good or nonperishable food item to donate to Philabundance to help them with their fight against hunger in our communities during the holiday season.
