National Constitution Center

The National Constitution Center will honor the nation’s servicemen and women during a Veterans Day celebration.
The National Constitution Center’s Veterans Day celebration begins at 9:15 a.m. on the Center’s front lawn with a flag raising ceremony. The day concludes with a flag lowering ceremony at 4:45 p.m. Throughout the day, visitors also can participate in hands-on flag etiquette workshops, during which visitors will discover the history and symbolism behind the U.S. flag.
Then, in homage to our nation’s servicemen and women, the Center will hold a moment of silence and a wreath laying ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on the Grand Hall Overlook, featuring the Drexel University Color Guard and a performance of “Taps.” Patriotic Crafts and Activities Children and their families can make their own American flags and star wreaths. They also will have the opportunity to write letters to service men and women currently serving in active duty.

Admission: FREE with museum admission. General museum admission is $5 on Veterans Day courtesy of The Macy’s Foundation. Veterans are FREE. General admission price cannot be combined with a group discount.

Enjoy guided tours of the Olympia, a Spanish-American War-era ship, watch gun drills and hear about life aboard this historic vessel. At 11 a.m. raise a hat to the country’s veterans at a memorial ceremony in front of the Becuna.

Admission: Free admission to all veterans on Monday, November 11 in honor of members of the United States Armed Forces

The Philadelphia Veterans Advisory Commission observes Veterans Day with a ceremony in Washington Square park at 11 a.m., where a statue of George Washington stands vigil at the tomb of an unknown soldier who died during the War for Independence.

The Korean War Memorial hosts a Veteran’s Day ceremony immediately preceding the event at the Vietnam memorial, which is (for the most part) directly across the street.

Bob Evans- Veterans and active military personnel will receive free all–you-can-eat hotcakes at its restaurants on Veterans Day, Monday, November 11. All these honored servicemen and women need do is show a valid military ID.

Boston Market- Stop into any Boston Market on Veterans Day and show your military ID and receive a free whole chicken with the purchase of a family meal.

Chili’s Free Meal-Veterans and active-duty military receive a free meal from a special Veterans Day menu on Monday Nov. 11th. Must show proof of military service.

Coffee Beanery Free Coffee- U.S. veterans and active duty military get a coffee on the house, this Veterans Day, Monday, November 11th.

Denny’s- All active, inactive and retired military personnel, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. on November 11th and at all participating Denny’s restaurants nationwide, diners with a valid military ID will receive free all-you-can-eat pancakes.

Friendly’s Free Breakfast and Coffee- Get a free Big Two Do Breakfast and coffee on Veteran’s Day, 11/11/2013.

Krispy Kreme- Offering a free doughnut and coffee to all those served or currently are serving. Proof of military service required or those in uniform. Only at participating locations.

Little Caesars- All United States armed forces veterans and active military members get a free order of Crazy Bread® with proof of military status at participating stores nationwide this Veterans Day, 11/11/13.

Longhorn Steakhouse- Service members receive a complimentary appetizer from a list of 10 delicious options, including New! Crispy Fried Green Beans, Lobster-Crab-and-Seafood-Stuffed Mushrooms and Sweet Chili Shrimp. Includes veterans and current service members.

Olive Garden- All veterans and military active duty will receive a free meal from a special menu on Veterans Day. Also, all November current military service members and their families get 10% off in honor of Military Appreciation Month.

On The Border- All veterans and active duty military will receive a free entree from the “Create Your Own Combo menu” on Monday, November 11, 2013. OTB will also donate 15% of all eligible sales on Veterans Day from guests who bring in a give-back flyer.
