pink-ribbon-women-dayThere’s no denying that over the years women are kicking butt and taking names.  Today is the day set aside to celebrate all the females in your life and to educate yourself on ways to help gender equality continue to grow.  Here are four ways to celebrate International Women’s Day in and around Philly!

Pledge for Parity

The theme for International Women’s Day in 2016 is #PledgeForParity.  This is from the International Women’s Day website.

“Worldwide, women continue to contribute to social, economic, cultural and political achievement.  And we have much to celebrate today. But progress towards gender parity has slowed in many places.  We say by Pledging For Parity!  Everyone – men and women – can pledge to take a concrete step to help achieve gender parity more quickly – whether to help women and girls achieve their ambitions, call for gender-balanced leadership, respect and value difference, develop more inclusive and flexible cultures or root out workplace bias. Each of us can be a leader within our own spheres of influence and commit to take pragmatic action to accelerate gender parity.”

Flower Show

The Philadelphia Flower Show will be honoring all women at the show today, which is open 10am-9pm.  There will be special visitors and FTD will be handing out free bouquet’s so you can take some of the flowers home with you!
